Goff Creek Pottery invites you to our Holiday Boutique Open House Weekends taking place each weekend in December prior to Christmas Eve. Please join us on December 3&4, 10&11, 17&18 for shopping, special edition pottery, refreshments and holiday cheer. We will be open 10am – 6 pm each of those days. Hope you can join us. Hi friends. Just to let you know we will be closed Wed. Oct 26 – Sun. Oct 30 for our annual autumn break. For your convenience we will stay open Mon. Oct 24 and Tue. Oct 25 plus Mon. Oct 31 and Tue. Nov 1 for anyone who was planning a weekday visit. After that we will be here Wed-Sun each week until Christmas. Hope to see you soon!

We survived the Heatwave

The WE referred to here, of course, are all the plants in the gardens. Everyone made it through with flying colors, literally! Purple poppies, blue and pink hydrangeas, crimson crocosmia, golden dill with orange zinnias, four different hues of bee balm, and the lovely white of Japanese willow, just to name a few pictured here. A note to Mother Nature ~ Thank you so much for the rain yesterday!

Lily Pads

A favorite theme among our gardening friends is lily pads, especially when they are used as a water feature in the garden. This summer we are featuring a number of different styles from single pads that rest on the ground in varying sizes from 6 inches to 14 inches which are great for toads to hop in and get wet or for the bees who are among our most important pollinators in the vegetable garden and fruit trees. We also feature single and double tiered 22 inch pads on 8 inch high pedestals which work so nicely as a bird bath, and our great big three tiered sculptural bird bath with frog pond design.

Cascading tiers of lily pads with a lotus blossom at the very top sits upon a highly decorated sculptural pedestal featuring frogs hiding among the ferns and butterflies flitting just over the heads of the turtles climbing ashore. 34 inches tall x 22 inches wide. One of our new sculptures for this summer season featuring a bird house on top and levels of water features. Once again, all of our work is frostproof which makes it marvelous because you can leave it outdoors in the winter!!! Who would not love to continue enjoying the garden and its sculptures during the long, long, cold, cold, snowy, snowy……winter?

Think Spring…

Now that the heart of winter is upon us, the only thing that we can try to make it more bearable is to – THINK SPRING! Not such an easy task on a 17 degree day with the wind chill making it feel more like 2 degrees. But that’s okay. We talk about Spring all day long, discuss our plans for the gardens, work hard on making pottery with meaning, getting ready for garden shows and fine art shows that we will be exhibiting in this season, plus creating many new designs and products to be ready for our customers . . . soon . . . in the Spring. We can hardly wait to work in the open air studio again.
